Posted on 3/4/2021
Interested in improving your birding skills, learning more about common bird species, or joining in on community science projects in your area? Check out Building Better Birders!

Pottawattamie Conservation is happy to announce the first two programs in our 2021 Building Better Birders programming partnership. Building Better Birders is a programming series designed to improve the bird identification skills of local citizens & promote a greater interest in community science programming. Workshops are presented free of charge & supported by the Resource Enhancement and Protection - Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP).

These informative & interesting workshops are conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Education Center). Programs in the Building Better Birders series have been presented throughout the state of Iowa & we are excited to get started with the first of our programs on March 25th at Botna Bend Park.

These programs are open to participants of all ages but are designed for learners age 12 & older. There is no fee to attend but advance registration is required as space is limited.

Join us at 6:00 p.m. for our first program of the evening, Raptors of Iowa. This presentation will introduce participants to commonly spotted raptor species. Topics to be covered include raptor identification, adaptations, migration & more.
