Private Programs

Pottawattamie Conservation provides presentations and nature learning opportunities for community groups in and around the county. Programs can be offered off-site or at any of the Pottawattamie County Parks.

Pottawattamie County Conservation offers nature learning opportunities for groups of all types and ages. Whether you’re a daycare offering outdoor exploration and extracurricular activities, an assisted living home seeking some fresh air, or a scout group looking to earn a new badge or explore new terrain, Pottawattamie County Conservation programs are a great resource for your group and provide engaging opportunities to learn more about the natural world.

On-site programs operate like field trips and encourage outdoor exploration and hands-on nature activities. These programs explore a variety of themes that can be tailored to fit group needs, size, age, and experience levels. Programs are offered at any of the Pottawattamie County parks. Depending on the location, these programs may include both indoor and outdoor activities.

Previous on-site programs have been offered to the following types of community groups:

  • Daycares and Early Learning Centers
  • Adventure or outdoor groups
  • Special interest groups (e.g. gardening or birding)
  • Homeschool groups
  • Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troops
  • Professional groups
  • Church and youth groups
  • Assisted living groups

Pottawattamie Conservation also offers outreach programs available off-site at a venue that is most convenient for your group. These programs explore a variety of nature themes and can be tailored to your group's interests and needs.

Off-site programs have been offered to the following types of community groups:

  • Daycare and Early Learning Centers
  • Libraries and community centers
  • Civic groups, such as Kiwanis, Optimist, and Rotary
  • Church and youth groups

Program Fees for Groups in Pottawattamie County

  • $4 per person for up to 1 hour of programming. Minimum of 10 persons or $40

Program Fees for Groups Outside Pottawattamie County

  • $5 per person for up to 1 hour of programming. Minimum of 10 persons or $50
