Face Coverings Required in all County Owned Buildings

Posted on 11/17/2020
Per County Resolution 96-2020 face coverings are required for any person entering any county owned building which includes some facilities at your county parks.

Updated November 17th, 2020

Effective immediately County Resolution 96-2020 requires the wearing of face coverings for any person entering any county owned building. This resolution reaches beyond the Pottawattamie County Courthouse & impacts some buildings at your county parks.

Visitors to Arrowhead Park & Botna Bend Park will see little change in their visits. Masks will be required to access the campground office but are not required for our two camping cabins due to their small size and the nature of their use. Visitors to Hitchcock Nature Center's Loess Hills Lodge will see the biggest change with masks required for entry due to the small size of the facilities. Masks will not be required for Hitchcock Nature Center's three camping cabins.

Parties making use of indoor rental facilities such at the classroom spaces at Hitchcock Nature Center, Breezy Lodge at Arrowhead Park, & Olsen Lodge at Botna Bend Park will also have some additional safety precautions per the Governor of Iowa's recent proclamation. Indoor events are restricted to 15 or fewer participants at all your county parks & outdoor events are restricted to 30 or fewer participants. When attending an event indoors masks must be worn except when eating & drinking, children under the age of two & those with medical conditions preventing them from wearing a mask are exempt. Social distancing of a minimum of 6’ between households must be observed. Masks are also to be worn during outdoor events when minimum social distancing is difficult or impossible to maintain.
