Prescribed fire is one of many tools we use to protect the last wild places left in Pottawattamie County. With flame and drip torch in hand, we combat invasive species and stimulate native plant growth so that endangered prairie ecosystems that once covered 85% of the state can thrive. Today, just 0.1% of this prairie remains. We need to act now so that generations to come can still experience the beauty and benefits of the wild, and you can help!

You can learn more about this important land management tool at Go Wild for Conservation where we'll be premiering our new "Fire on the Prairie" video and raising awareness and funds for local conservation efforts.

Your Go Wild for Conservation ticket purchase helps provide field trip scholarships for every school in Pottawattamie County and funds local environmental education programs, land management and conservation efforts, and upkeep and improvements to Pottawattamie Conservation parks.

We can't do this important work alone. Will you help us preserve what's wild?

Join us in person on Thursday, September 29th for:

  • A silent and live auction,
  • Full Fledged Brewing Company beer tasting,
  • Barley's burgers and food,
  • a growler and wine pull,
  • the premiere of Pottawattamie Conservation's "Fire on the Prairie" video.

Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online below or by calling 712-328-5638. Tickets may be purchased through Friday, September 23rd.

Your donation supports the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation and the Gary & Beth Matters Environmental Education Scholarship Fund, helping fund land management projects, county park improvements, and environmental education programming for all ages.

Don't forget! This event is held in coordination with an online auction from September 22nd through the 29th. Online registration is now open and is required to bid on items. Please register here today through our online auction tool, Qtego.
