Pottawattamie Conservation would like to welcome Maury Salz, newest member of the volunteer Pottawattamie County Conservation Board (PCCB).
Maury officially joined the PCCB early this year and was sworn in by Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors Chair Brian Shea.

He was raised on a family farm in northwestern Iowa. It was there that he developed an early appreciation for responsible land stewardship, and he continues to participate in his family’s farm operation today.
During his career, Maury served in executive roles for more than 40 years with a focus on strengthening technology and industry standards at Deere, Case IH, and CLAAS Omaha, where he retired as President and Managing Director of Engineering.
Maury lives in Honey Creek with his wife, Janice. Together, they enjoy watching the grandkids' activities, gardening, farming, and supporting several nonprofit organizations.
The Pottawattamie County Conservation Board oversees the county's conservation department, Pottawattamie Conservation. It is one of 99 conservation boards across Iowa, each comprised of five members who served five-year terms and are sworn in by elected county supervisors.
Earlier this year the PCCB also named new leadership roles for current members, selecting Chris Ruhaak as President, Brittany McGee as Vice President, and Heidi Hough as Secretary. Jerry Mathiasen is also a member.
As it welcomes Maury to the board, the PCCB would also like to publicly recognize prior member Mary Kramer for her 10 years of service and lifelong dedication to conservation in Pottawattamie County. Thank you for your guidance, leadership, and passion for educating future generations, Mary!
