Can you give us a hand?
Our Natural Areas Management Team is thinning trees and brush at Mt. Crescent to restore natural systems and expand skiable terrain. We need help dragging trees and brush down the hill and and loading it onto trailers. This brush is used by the zoo to feed large herbivores.
Help is needed any time between 8am and 4pm.
Pre-registration is required. Please park in the parking lot at Mount Crescent Ski Area, 17026 Snowhill Ln, Honey Creek, IA. Before registering be sure to read our Activity Liability Waiver here.
What to wear and bring:
- Long pants
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Hat or head covering
- Work gloves
- Eye protection (sun glasses will work)
- Ear plugs (we will supply if you don't have any)
- Sunscreen
- Reusable water bottle (water refill stations will be available)
Rules and considerations:
- Because of the intensity of this work, please do not bring children under 12 years old or dogs.
