Join us at Hitchcock Nature Center on Thursday, December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. for Building Better Birders: The Ultimate Winter Bird Survey, A Summary of the First Ever Christmas Bird Count Marathon. This presentation gives an overview and history of the Christmas Bird Count Program. We describe the successful completion of the first CBC Marathon by discussing each individual count and highlighting noteworthy birds identified. Information on local CBC compilers will be available if people are interested in participating. 

This workshop will be conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Education Center) & is being presented as part of the Building Better Birders programming series. 

This program is open to all ages but is geared toward participants age 12 & over. There is no cost to attend this workshop. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283.

This is the third of three Building Better Birders workshops scheduled for Thursday, December 2nd at Hitchcock Nature Center. You may register for as many workshops as you like.

Building Better Birders is a programming series designed to improve the bird identification skills of local citizens & promote a greater interest in citizen science programming. Workshops are presented free of charge & supported by the Resource Enhancement and Protection - Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP).
