New Year's Eve Hike

Attention
This page includes details on a past event. For a current list of upcoming Pottawattamie Conservation events, please visit our calendar.

Registration for this event is completely full. Thank you so much for your interest!

Hitchcock Nature Center trails and restrooms are open to the public until 10 p.m. Those interested in watching fireworks from afar can catch them from the park's observation deck or the trail system (we recommend Westridge trail but please note that it is a difficult hike with steep inclines).

Please note that the observation tower will not be accessible to the public during the firework show as it is reserved for New Year's Eve hike participants only due to a weight limit. Thank you!

Avoid the crowds and loud parties, leave the TV behind, and ring in the New Year with a rejuvenating hike and views of Omaha's fireworks display.

Celebrate the new year under an open sky with a guided hike in Iowa's beautiful Loess Hills. We’ll end our hike with a view from the top of our Hawkwatch tower of the Omaha firework display from CHI Health Center.
