Calling Artists of All Ages: Submit Your Pottawattamie County Park T-Shirt Designs by April 30th!

Pottawattamie County Conservation is looking for YOUR help! Submit your awesome t-shirt design into the 2024 Pottawattamie County Park T-Shirt Design Contest by April 30th, 2024. Winners will receive fun prizes and have their design featured on t-shirts available for purchase online and in-person at Hitchcock Nature Center and Mt. Crescent Ski Area.

T-Shirt Design Contest Prizes

Winners will each receive:

  1. A Pottawattamie County Conservation annual park membership ($30 value)
  2. A certificate for a one-night camping cabin or cottage stay, good to use at either Arrowhead Park or Hitchcock Nature Center. Dates are based on availability. ($75-$100 value)
  3. One lift ticket, good for use during the 2024-2025 ski season at Mt. Crescent Ski Area. ($45 value)
  4. Recognition on Pottawattamie County Conservation’s social media, website, and e-newsletter
  5. One (1) t-shirt featuring your design in a size of your choice

 

Design Rules and Guidelines

  1. Design may not exceed 11” wide by 12” high.
  2. Design will appear on the front of a solid-color shirt.
  3. Designs may embody any or all Pottawattamie County Conservation parks including Arrowhead Park, Botna Bend Park, Hitchcock Nature Center, Mt. Crescent Ski AreaNarrows River Park, or Olde Town Park.
  4. Design must be wholly original. By submitting a design, you are guaranteeing that you hold original rights to everything in it, that it may be printed on distributed t-shirts, and that it does not contain any copyrighted material.
  5. It’s recommended to render your design in a design program such as Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc. Please include a high-resolution PDF or JPG file, and a vector-based EPS file if possible.
  6. A conceptual design may be submitted instead of a fully rendered design. All conceptual designs must be spelled out using descriptive language to articulate the design. If conceptual, please also include a sketch of the design. Select designs may be chosen by Pottawattamie County Conservation for rendering by a graphic artist.
  7. Entries become the property of Pottawattamie County Conservation and winners have no right to proceeds from sales featuring their design.
  8. Pottawattamie County Conservation reserves the right to make adjustments to all entries, including the colors of the design.

Eligibility: This contest is open to the public and all ages. Child and student designs are welcome!

 

Submission Rules and Guidelines

  1. Entries must be emailed by 11:59 p.m. on ­April 30th, 2024 to pottconservation@pottcounty-ia.gov 
  2. All entry emails should have the subject line “2024 T-shirt Design Contest + Designer(s) Name + Design Title.”
  3. Include your name, mailing address, and telephone number.

 

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Concept and originality
  2. Captures the spirit of the outdoors
  3. Completeness of design and readiness for printing
  4. Feasibility of reproduction
  5. Adherence to design and submission rules and guidelines

Possible themes to incorporate: Hiking/trails, bison, elk, skiing, snowboarding, sledding, fishing, oak trees, the Loess Hills, camping, native species or wildlife, kayaking/canoeing.

 

How Winners Will Be Notified

Winners will be notified by email at the close of the voting period, via the information provided during entry. Upon contacting a winner and determining that they have met all eligibility requirements of the contest, such individual will be declared a "winner" of the contest via social media, the Pottawattamie County Conservation blog, e-newsletter, and on pottconservation.com.

 

At the sole discretion of Pottawattamie Conservation, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following:

  1. Winner's failure to respond to the notification within three (3) business days after its transmission.
  2. The return of email notification as undeliverable after three (3) attempts.
  3. Winner's failure to provide original design files.

 

Submission Agreement

By participating in the 2024 Pottawattamie County Park T-Shirt Design contest, you agree:

  1. To release the rights to your design to Pottawattamie County Conservation for t-shirts available for sale online and at the Loess Hills Lodge and other promotional items, including, but not limited to: the Pottawattamie County Conservation website, social media, and marketing materials.
  2. That Pottawattamie County Conservation reserves the right to make adjustments to the winning designs.
  3. That winners are responsible for all taxes associated with prizes.
  4. To abide by all contest rules, agreements, and guidelines.
