Have a "howling" good time at Hitchcock Nature Center during our annual Hitchcock Haunted Hollow treasure hunt! This all-ages program is the perfect way to get outdoors, learn something new about the natural world, and explore autumn in Iowa's Loess Hills. Swing by the Loess Hills Lodge between 11:00 and 2:00 p.m. to grab your spooky trail map with clues, then hit the trails to see if you can find the answers and return victorious. Don't forget to swing back by the lodge before it closes to grab your prize when you're done!

Costumes are welcome!

Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. Cost is $5.00 per person for those ages 4+ and includes park admission. Children ages 3 and under are free and do not need a reservation.

Please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge to pick up your spooky treasure map. "Medium" maps are recommended for children and "difficult" maps are recommended for teens and adults and follow a more difficult trail as well. A mobility-friendly map will also be available for families with clues specific to Boardwalk trail.

This event will be held outdoors and involves pedestrian travel over uneven surfaces. Strollers are not permitted unless you are on Boardwalk trail or in a parking area. Please dress for the weather. Bug spray and water are recommended. This event is not pet-friendly, but service animals are welcome. Weather permitting.
