While you are out enjoying the Hoo Doo Day weekend. Swing by Pottawattiame County's Arrowhead Park for Learn to Kayak, Saturday, August 30th. where you will learn the basics of kayaking: strokes, types of kayaks, water safety, and where to kayak. Then, test your new skills on the water at Arrowhead Lake. Equipment provided.
Cost for the program is $5 per participant. Pre-registration is required. Ages 12 years and up. Can't make it at 11:00 a.m., we have another class time at 2:00 p.m.
Please meet in the parking area across from the park office and come prepared with water shoes and clothing that may get wet. For questions not answered online please call 712-242-1189.
Want to make a family day of it, but have kids younger than 12? Other activities at Arrowhead Park include fishing, hiking trails, and camping (all tent and RV sites are first come, first served). Please note that swimming at Arrowhead Lake is not allowed. Arrowhead Park also has a playground and sand volleyball court.
Please note that processing fees will not be refunded. Guests may cancel their reservation for a refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 and speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Fees for programs canceled by Pottawattamie Conservation due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded, including the processing fee.
